Interested In Becoming a M-DCPS Clinical Art Therapist?

Applying for a position in the M-DCPS for an art therapy position is a multi-step procedure.

Step1: Visit http://jobs.dadeschools.net/teachers/index.asp

Step 2:  Click on Application for Instructional Position

Step 3:  Complete the application.. You will need to send official transcripts from both your graduate and undergraduate colleges/universities and  reference letters and/or evaluations from your last employers to the Personnel Office.

Step 4:  Contact the Clinical Art Therapy Department Chairperson

Step 5:  Send TBA the following: a letter of intent, a resume, and 3 letters of reference (with phone contact numbers). You will be contacted in the event of an opening and an interview with both the Personnel Office and the Art Therapy Department will be scheduled.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualification for employment in the M-DCPS clinical art therapy department include :

1.    Hold a Master’s degree in art therapy from an accredited university or a masters level  program recognized by the American Art therapy Association (AATA)

2.    Have a teaching certificate from the state of Florida or be eligible to obtain one within M-DCPS specified time lines

3.    Have or be in the process of obtaining registration and board certification from the American Art Therapy Credentialing Board (ATCB)
